GIRLS FRIENDLY SOCIETY |
The Girls' Friendly Society was
founded in Ireland in 1877 by Mrs. Elizabeth Townsend. The purpose of the
Society is to unite for the glory of God in one fellow-ship of prayer and
service, girls and women throughout the world; to promote friendship and to
uphold Christian standards on thought, word and deed. The G.F.S. was founded in
Tullow in 1975.
