GIRLS FRIENDLY SOCIETY

 

The Girls' Friendly Society was founded in Ireland in 1877 by Mrs. Elizabeth Townsend. The purpose of the Society is to unite for the glory of God in one fellow-ship of prayer and service, girls and women throughout the world; to promote friendship and to uphold Christian standards on thought, word and deed. The G.F.S. was founded in Tullow in 1975.
